Dear Parents and Students:
We know it can get a bit clichéd, but there IS something joyous about the New Year, new beginnings and fresh starts. We here at The Nutmeg are excited about the upcoming semester and are looking forward to having all the students back in full swing!
Having come off of an extremely successful Nutcracker season, the faculty at The Nutmeg can’t wait to start training and rehearsing for our upcoming performances of IMPACT at the end of March and our Graduation Performances in May. Throughout the semester, the students will have the opportunity to work with some wonderful guest artists including Brian Simerson, Alexandre Proia, Denise Warner Limoli, and Kirk Peterson.
This semester in the CAP program, we will continue to monitor the students’ progress in their academic classes. Across the board, they worked hard last semester and we’d like to keep the momentum going. We plan to meet with them individually to discuss their academic and artistic goals.
Along with continuing to provide tutors in Math, Spanish, and Current Events, we also will be providing an SAT prep course for our Juniors, as it is strongly recommended that they take the SAT this Spring. Junior year is the year to start thinking seriously about post-high school options, dance related or otherwise, and Nutmeg staff would like to make sure we have as much communication as possible with parents and students during this important time. (For those Juniors and Sophomores that took the PSAT, we have received the PSAT test score results. These results and additional test information will be mailed home to you.)
As for our Seniors, we are looking forward to celebrating their successes as they hear about acceptances into dance companies, dance programs and colleges! Of course, we will also certainly celebrate being able to continue training any of our talented students as post-graduates should they decide to further their training with us. This is an exciting time of life for these young students and we hope that you know we at The Nutmeg are honored to be a part of it.
We also want you to know that we continue to take very seriously our job as “caretakers” of your children and that we do strive to help every student grow and succeed. If you have any concerns or questions, we strongly encourage you to reach out to one of us so that lines of communication remain open and strong.
And so with that, Happy New Year and “On with the dance!”
Sincerely,
Entire faculty and staff
